Please read about our foster cats who have found loving, permanent homes.

As you can see from the pictures, the cats now have free reign over the house and have adjusted very well.

They no longer run at the first site of people, and Rocky will purr ANYTIME you touch her.  Spooky has a favorite toy mouse that he struts around the house with.  He is a total ham and loves attention.  Rocky has some less subtle ways to get her one on one time...when my alarm goes off, she waits for me to turn it off and then firmly plants herself on my chest and immediately puts on her cute face and starts purring.  They are a ton of fun and they are such sweet cats.  I am so glad that they have deemed me worthy of their love and their funny antics.  I think because Spooky was a special case that his change has been so impressive and want to share it with all of you.  He is my greeter kitty...anytime anyone comes in he comes up to introduce himself...not everyone can touch him, but he makes his presence known by meowing LOUDLY to all who will listen.  If I come in the house all I have to do is say "can I pet you" and he drops at my feet to get some attention.

Again, total ham.

I finally have some pictures to show you of Wilma.

She is doing so well. As you can tell, Wilma is fully grown and very healthy. She plays a lot of the time and loves to hang out with both Karen and I (and, of course, Mr. Muldoon). With the warmer weather, she is loving the bird TV (our wetland!). She also loves being with Karen when she if fixing meals, though we try to refrain from giving her any "people food."

We are a very happy household! We are very grateful for bringing Wilma into our home.

The kitties are doing great.

The have adjusted to their new home and are doing well. Thanks for taking such good care of them.

I attached a couple of pictures but its hard to get them when they are always playing :)

The girls are just wonderful!

They fit into the family right away.  Gracie (Parson) has become daddies little girl! Finally he has a kitty that snuggles with him! Basil was my boy and I miss him terribly, but the girls have filled in the sadness. We love them all so much!

They are all very special members of our family!

Stripes-Polka Dots has been renamed "Princess," since she certainly acts like one!

She gets along great with her big brother Albie--they pal around and play together, although Albie likes to eat Princess' food...

Princess has been growing like a weed and continues to be healthy and lively.

Attached is a photo of Princess with her big brother.

The kitties are doing great....

and their kitty antics are still going on but we love it.  They run our household so they adjusted really well.  I have enclosed photos!

Thank you!

Luna is great!

She adjusted to our home quickly and she keeps us constantly entertained.  She'll play with just about anything, but she especially loves to play fetch (yes, a cat that plays fetch).  She tries to meow/purr when she runs, but she ends up sounding like a turkey - we  love it!  She likes to be wherever we are, so we usually have either a 'shadow' or a lap cat.

We definitely got what we were hoping for in a new pet!

Hi Annette,

Thank you for writing to me about "Mike" Formally known as Angelo Gato.  I am happy to report he is very loved, happy and spoiled.  He is a great cat and we love him very much.

Thanks,  Jessie

Dear For Cat's Sake Rescue and Jackie  -

We are very happy to update you on "Linus."  The first change is that while we intended to keep his name, we found after a few short days his personality was much "larger" than the name Linus.  So we named him Loki for the Norse God of Mischief.  He is all teenager and shows his mischievious boyish ways ALL the tme.

Our other cat, Chance is a 13 year old Abyssinian rescue with no teeth and who is deaf.  Loki is food dominant over him (I have never seen a kitten eat so much - and he is not getting fat) and plays fairly aggressively.  But there are no real cat fights - just agressive "teenager" play, so we believe he will grow out of it.  So we feed them separately and provide Chance "quiet time" each day. Loki IS really growing; we think he has Maine Coon in him based on his fur, markings and behaviors - he LOVES water.  He will come racing from wherever he is when you turn on the faucet.
Hopefully you can tell from the pic that he is loved AND spoiled.  We have rescued a number of older cats over the years including our Abby, so having a kitten in the house is so much fun.

Thanks from Loki's Mom & Dad; Kim & Barney!
(Adopted February 2010)
"The kids" are doing just grand - happy, healthy, and pretty spoiled.

They had their first encounter with little kids last weekend - my niece and her 2 year old and 5 year old came to visit - and I was very proud that both of the kitties behaved very well and were extremely social.

Batman (now known as Quarter or "Q") greets me at the door every afternoon when I get home from work.  And just last night, I was having trouble turning my mind off enough to sleep, until Godiva curled up on my chest and purred me to sleep at 12:30am.  Which was wonderful, until 4:00am when she also decided she needed a bath, and apparently I did too...  Kitty tongue on the neck...  Yikes!  That will wake you up fast!

Thanks for checking on them.

Bonita

Chloe (we changed her name) and Smokey are doing fantastically!

It took them a few weeks to take to each other, but they are good pals now.  Chloe keeps Smokey on his toes, as she loves to jump on him and play with him every chance she gets.  Chloe is also not limping as much and is often walking on all fours.

We love having them with us and it seems much longer than 2 months.  They are completely part of our family now and we adore them.  Thanks for checking in!

Jen, Rob and Sophia

Vinny is doing great.

He's a great family addition. When he was originally described as aloof I didn't think he would truly live up to it....well he does. He's like a little space cadet sometimes but it's cute and funny. The boys love him and he gets along real well with them. They all run around and play together.

Thanks again!! We love Vinny very much...even though he's constantly knocking things down and walking over the computer's keyboard (well we're typing) :D    Maura

FCS,

The girls are certainly still full of kitten antics. Lydia loves to pat people on the head as they go down the winding stairwell! Jackie is more shy, but has warmed up nicely to us. They both love to cuddle. Here is one of about 200 photos of the little darlin's.

Hello

Thanks for checking in on Little Pea.  She is a very loving little one ~ she's not going to be a real big size cat.  She favors sleeping in one of the bathroom sinks and has a funny, unusually different meow when wanting my attention or wants me to turn on the faucet so she can drink fresh water.  She is well taken care of by her big sister Tantra who is 11.  They play and Tantra grooms her frequently.  It's very cute.  They all sleep w/me every night so they are getting along just fine!

Again, she is a very sweet little one and I'm glad to have held on to her vs just being her foster.  Thanks again for doing all you do for these wonderful animals.

Holly

(Adopted January 2010)

Wyatt has been a wonderful addition to our household.  The introduction period went very smoothly and within 3 days Bob and Wyatt were already running around together and playing with one another.  Frankly the two cats are inseparable!  As I write this email, I am fairly confident upon my return home, both will be sitting at the door waiting for me. We did have one minor problem with Wyatt chewing on electrical cables, cords, or wires when we first got him.  This has been fixed with some small behavioral modifications and now both Wyatt and our home are safe. Wyatt has even learned to take a bath every week, and seems to like the water so much that during the week I often find him playing in the cat waterer we have in the kitchen.  We can’t thank you enough for bringing Wyatt into our home and our hearts.

Thanks again for everything!

Hi everyone-

I just wanted to pass on a few pictures of the cats.  They are doing really well.  Curious about the new surroundings.  They have definitely decided that I am okay.  They love to play with a fleece streamer.  Spooky sleeps in the bed with me at night.  Rocky sleeps on the foot of the bed.  Sometimes they sleep in the rocking chair, too.
Spooky seems to be pretty brave here (maybe being with just Rocky has been a good thing??) as we have not seen any signs of distress or even fear from him.  So that is a very good thing.  The fur on his legs appears to be growing in pretty well, too.  I do still have them confined to one room, I just want to make sure they have adjusted fully before I introduce more new spaces.  But, they seem perfectly happy with their sunny little corner bedroom : ).

Hi FCS,

Sorry it's been awhile since you sent this but it's been really busy around here. Furby is doing great. She and Coco play all the time and have lots of fun. They sleep on our bed together quite often too. She loves to follow us around the house and has finally learned that if she gets underfoot she will get stepped on. The only thing that we are having to retrain her on is getting her nails cut. She hates having them done and we always have to put her in a towel to do it. We love having Furby here and she is really doing well.

Denise (Adopted January 2010)

Good Afternoon,

Violet is doing very well and we are absolutely delighted to have her as part of our household.  She and my other cat seem to be getting along as well -- they still love to chase each other around the house, but both end up sleeping on my lap together once they have tired themselves out!

Violet is also getting so big!  I took her in about 2 weeks ago to get her last shots and she was about 4.5 lbs and I am positive that she has gained weight since then.
Best,
Kimberly (Adopted Jan 2010)

Dear FCS,

The boys are doing great. I can’t remember what it’s like without them. Every day as I drive up to the house after work I see them curled up next to each other on top of the chair in front of the living room window and it always makes me smile. My favorite moments in the past few months have been watching TV while curled up on the couch with my husband and having the kitties crawl up and fall asleep on top of us.

They also have their kitty antics J I swear we go through a pack of toy mice ever two weeks!  Their favorite game is batting the mice underneath the coffee table so we have to dig them out. They also love chasing string we drag around.  I’m surprised at how well they handle strangers, They are not the least bit bashful when we have company. And if you throw a toy mouse for them and they’re your friend forever (or at least the next five minutes anyways).   We renamed them Fred and George after the redheaded Wesely brothers in the Harry Potter books (we couldn’t think of any other famous male redheads).

Bonnie

Dear FCS,

This email and photo are way overdue but time flies when you’re having fun, fun, fun! Here is a picture of Sally (Melanie when you had her) with her sister Lena . Sally is really doing great and what a great idea to get 2 kittens. Sally is fearless and a ball of energy. She plays fetch with me for about 45 minutes every night in our living room. When she isn’t running & jumping with her sister Lena , she is following me around. She sleeps with a part of her touching a part of me all night. She has a friendly and outgoing personality and is the first to greet company into our home. She and her sister are great friends and wonderful companions to my husband and me in our “empty nest” years.

Thanks for all you do,

The kitties are doing just great  and growing well. They are renamed Charlie Hustle (female) and Bilbo Baggins (male) and I don't have too many pictures because they are always on the move and in two different places, but  here is one of the both of them.

Hi,

Daisy (Sassy Pants) is doing really good. She knows who her mom is and loves to sit on my lap and give kisses. Daisy and Lia (our other cat) are doing better together. They like to chase each other around the house and steal each others toys. Here is a picture of Daisy. She took a great liking to a stuffed dog of ours, his name is Root beer. Daisy likes to sleep on top of Rootbeer.

Duane & Rita

Mia is such an active cat that we consider her our little 7 pound ball of energy. She is constantly running up and down the hallway from the living room to the bedroom and back, only to pounce on a toy mouse or jump into an empty clothes basket. She is a great cat and we are so happy to have her.  Recently, Mia has started to sleep in our bed for part of the night. So, now we have a bed full of cats at night; Mia at the top and Belle at the bottom. We’ll never need an electric blanket again.  Mia has even taught Belle how to get up on the ledge in the family room so that she can get between the curtains and the windows and look outside. Thank you again for giving us another wonderful cat.

Gary & Jenny

Dear FCS,

Roz is doing fantastic in her new home. She is healthy and happy with a little bit of spoiled thrown in.
She loves to spend her days relaxing on the couch, the bed, and the windowsill.  When I get home, she abandons position to meet me by the door.  At night she cuddles up on the couch until it is time for more sleep.  Every morning I wake up to her snoring by my side, then I wake her with a tummy scratch.

We have recently saved another cat named Dawson.  The two were slow to warm up to each other, but now Dawson likes to spend his time cleaning Roz and treating her like the queen of the house.

So good to hear from you.  I can't believe i've had these boys a couple months already.  They're doing fine.  Thank you for helping me with nail clipping.  Cheech (finch) got his clipped when i took him to the vet for his limping.  I coaxed him into the carrier with treats a few days before the vet and it worked!  Now i'm giving him anti-inflammatories.  I'm pretty sure they are liking it here...they make themselves very comfortable...wherever they want :o)....still a little skiddish but there is a BIG improvement...

Thanks for all your help & communications.....have a joyous holiday and a good 2010!

Hi FCS,

I want to thank your organization for all the energy you put into saving and caring for these cats and kittens. Thanks to you, Gia has found a home with me and doesn't have to worry about fending for herself and her kittens as a stray anymore.
Since I brought her home two months ago, Gia has grown to like it a lot here. She's got a lot of toys as she's still a young cat and likes to play. One of her favorite things around the apartment is rest on her comfy window perch, where she can look out and watch the people and the cars on the street below and take long naps. To Gia, nothing compares to being pet and sitting in my lap -- THAT is her all-time favorite thing to do. She makes friends very quickly with anyone who comes to my place so that she can get more hands to pet her!
I think that Gia knows that she is finally home -- it seems as if she's been here all along. Gia has brought a lot of light into my life and I thank you for that.

-- Amy

Hi,

Thank you for the wonderful addition to our family. We LOVE our Maximus (Joey when he was with you). He is a very playful, loving kitten. He had his 1st vet check up and passed with flying colors. Max is getting along wonderful with Morgan our 14 year old dog and with Sessa Bella our 3 year old cat. It took a while for Bella to really accept Max. It has been two months now and they get along fine. I took a photo this morning of Bella grooming Max. He only lays quietly for a very short time, then he thinks its time to turn the loving moment into a wrestling match.   Thank you again for a great family member. We call Max our little Lion King.  I have attached two photos, one of Bella grooming Maximus and the other is Maximus.  Sincerely,

Janet and Perry

Hi There,

Wilbur and I are doing great and I would consider his adoption a great success.  He is such a cutie and really has come out of his shell. I kept his name the same because he was used to it and he actually looks like a Wilbur.  He has become my furry alarm clock and likes to run and hide in every room of the house.

Sincerely,

Phyllis

Dear FSC Rescue,

I would say that this is indeed a successful adoption. We did change his name to "Charlie" he reminds us of Charlie Chaplin with his coloring. He seems to be very happy here and it's fun to watch his playfulness. I must say, I've never seen a cat eat like this guy, what an appitite!

Thank you for a wonderful pet!

The Carters

Dear For Cat's Sake Rescue,

Cammie is doing wonderful! We love her tremendously and so does her house mate Frisco.  She is growing so fast and is very pretty.  Her colors are just beautiful. I thank you so much for saving her life, and giving me the opportunity to give her a great life.  I'm just not sure who is getting the better life her or I.  And yes she has a new name, it's Seren like in Serendipity.  Our meeting her was very Serendipity and meant to be.  Seren is perfect even with the trials of a kitten.  She has made my life very happy. I will promote your organization any chance I can. Thank you again. Sincerely,

Camille

Snuggles ( I kept her name the same) is fine and just a little lovebug!! I love how she keeps me company in the bathroom when I'm putting my makeup on in the morning. Or when she sits on the toilet seat waiting for me to get out of the shower.  She has taken to hiding under the shower curtain and waits for me to find her.  And when I pull out the vacuum she immediately jumps into the bathtub thinking it the safest place to be !  The only thing now is if I can get her to settle down at night a little bit I might be able to get some sleep!  She's up at all hours walking over the bed and wanting me to pet her.  But I'm working on that with her.

Wish me luck!!

Rose

Dear For Cat's Sake:

Our kitty is named Arwen, for the Elf princess in "Lord of the Rings". We have also adopted her brother, Winston, so she wouldn't be lonely. They are very happy together and love to wrestle. Though she's much smaller, Arwen is usually the "winner". They are both very affectionate and love to cuddle. We get "stereo" purring from them. They are growing fast!

Sandra

?Hi, Annette.

We just love Lucy; I wanted to change her name to Trouble (after reading the description of her on your website) or Milkshake, but the kids wouldn't have it.   She has become a member of the family....she's added lots of laughs and sunshine to our household.   She's an affectionate kitty, acts more like a dog than a cat.   She's really sweet, always looking for an adventure and very beautiful, too.   She loves the girls a lot, follows them around the house constantly and likes playing with all of their little toys.   One quirky thing Lucy does is that she jumps into a doll high chair when she is hungry....then I know I need to get out the canned food. (My oldest daughter would put her in there while I got out her canned food at first and now she does it on her own).   I'll send you a picture of this directly after this email, I don't know how to attach it directly to this note.  In summary, it's been a great experience having Lucy in the house---it gave the the girls some responsibility and made life a lot more interesting around here.

Thanks a bunch for this wonderful addition to our family,

Anne, Dave, Nicole and Kendra

Hi FCS Rescue!

Pearl is getting along beautifully in our home. We have changed her name to Echo, as she is often a little shadow following us from room to room, answering our questions to her. She is especially vocal when she knows dinner is coming! She has lots of toys and loves to play. She now comes to us more frequently for a pat or a scratch. She loves being brushed and sitting in any and all window sills to watch the crickets and falling leaves. Her grandpa even built her a kitty tower so she can look out the window more easily! She is very curious and has found many places in the house where she can hide from the dog.

Echo has decided it is great fun to play with the plastic hair catcher in the bath tub. We often find it in various rooms every few days. She can even get in to the tub to retrieve it when the door is only open 3 inches!

Thanks for checking up on her! I admire what you do for FCS!

Hello,

Wow, it seems like much longer than 3 months since I adopted Rai! I REALLY wanted to write you & especially Moon Dancer sooner, but I don't have any pictures of Rai yet, so I will follow-up with you when I do. First of all, he is the best cat EVER. He did hide for about the first week that he was home, and at first I was a little worried about that, but then he started coming out and hanging out with me. We are definitely best friends now :)

I did keep his name, but I added a middle name, so his full name is Rai Anthony. His quirkiest habit is that he likes to sit on my shoulder (and he licks my face :P ), and if I'm laying down, he likes to lay between my neck and my shoulder. He is still kinda small, but he has definitely grown a lot. I will send you a picture soon. At first he would never hold still long enough to get a good picture, but now that he's a little older I will try it again. Thanks so much for the beautiful pet. He follows me everywhere I go and he's very vocal. Definitely the best decision to bring him home!

Thanks again,
Jessica

Fitz and Figaro are now Figaro and Pongo – if you can keep that straight!  Pongo’s full name is Pongo Twistleton from a character in a book.  They love to sprawl in the middle of the floor with the dogs and sleep.  They also love the shower, the bath and anything with water.  Figaro (who was Fitz) is the littler guy and he loves to sleep on shoes, sometimes with his head or feet tucked inside.  Pongo is a great big boy – very sturdy.

They both have beautiful coats and huge big thick tails.  We love them as do their dog siblings.  My daughter is going to school in Brazil and we send her updates about them all the time – she fears they will be all grown up by the time she gets home – I think she is right.  However, their kitten playfulness is still in full swing.

Thanks for asking,

Melanie

Hi there!   I feel bad that we haven't given you an update sooner. We did rename Blaze because she's such a pretty little lioness-looking cat that we switched it to Nala. She is the best little girl kitty we have ever had and just a total sweetheart. I think the fact that she was raised with such a nice foster family contributed to her friendly and charming personality. Everyone just melts when they meet her.

Our two boy cats have really taken a fancy to her and love to trade off giving her baths. The three of them love to run and play and though we've had pairs of them snuggle, we're still waiting for a big three-cat snuggle come colder weather. :) We were very happy before with just our two kitties, but Nala has just made it all the better. We all love her very much!

One funny story about her is that she found a moose stuffed animal somewhere in our house (we didn't even know we owned it!) and loves to drag it around the house and wrestle with it, even though it is the same size as her! She cracks us up with it. I have included a picture of that as well.

Thanks for checking in and for running such a wonderful organization. My heart goes out to all the other little kitties in need of homes, but I know they're in good hands with For Cat's Sake. Thank you for a wonderful adoption and an amazing addition to our family.

All the best,
Caley and Ryan (and Stewey, Junior and Nala)

Chloe has retained her name and is universally considered a wonderful addition to my family by my sons, their girlfriends, and my ex-wife (who REALLY wanted to have Chloe….). She is wonderful to hold and pet on your shoulder, and she loves to play (at 4 years old!).  She does yowl pretty loud when, um, under the influence of catnip, so a wise person does not leave it where she can find it at 3 AM. Similarly she will meow insistently outside my bedroom door at what SHE thinks is breakfast time (oh, 4 AM), so that’s what the office is for (with its own litter box and water bowl). She and my existing 8-year-old cat Alice aren’t best buddies yet (well, Chloe WANTS to be), but they get along and do not have any conflict issues. Chloe gets the lion’s share of the attention because she is pretty insistent. I’m guessing that she has some abandonment issues, so I make a point of reminding her that yes I’m still here when I come home every day.

Overall I cannot BELIEVE that nobody adopted her for TWO YEARS!! She is a great cat. Thanks for your help in adopting her.

Attached are several pictures of Chloe in her new home (some already sent to Tammy).

Regards,

 Bill

Hello, FCS,

Thank you for your follow up email. We are happy to inform you that Freddy (aka Camaro) is doing great in his new home. He is a super sweet cat! He loves to cuddle and play with his younger brother Willy. Willy and Freddy are the best of buddies. They spend the days cuddling, wrestling, and licking each other. He certainly has a bottomless pit for a stomach. When it comes close to feeding time ('close' may be an understatement...sometimes 2-3 hours before), he will meow and meow for food. We are not sure if this has something to do with his upbringing as a kittie, but it seems like he feels he needs to remind us to feed him. In this way, there seems to be high anxiety about whether or not he will be fed. I'm not sure if you can shed any light on this behavior, but we are doing our best to make the process as calm as possible. Otherwise, he is a wonderful cat and we are very happy to have him as part of our family.

Thank you, Sam and Melissa.

We now call Corvette Corey.

He has fit in with our family very well, it seems like we have had him for a lot longer than three months. It took our first cat Alice a little while to get used to Corey, but he took to her right away. Now the two spend all their time together. They love to chase each other around the house and up our cat tree. Corey is such a loving cat whenever you call him he comes and he is just content to sit by you and be petted. He loves being around us a little too much at times...he sleeps on Brian's head! Corey also is very cute because he never lays down, he just plops down. He always walks around with the little white end of his tail curled to one side so it looks like an ornament.

We absolutely love Corey and are so happy to have him!

~Brian and Nicki

To all who helped rescue Mama, Noir and Onyx!

All the cats have adjusted well to their new home and us, developed their own unique routines. They also have received new names.

Mama became Mocha as she is attracted to coffee and always wants to put her nose in it, even after she learned that is was hot.

She also is a water cat as she likes anything to do with water and plays with a slow running stream of tap water every morning.

Onyx became Stiches as she decided to rip out her sutures and take us on a trip to the pet emergency hospital in Glendale one Friday night.

She is the initiator of many mischievous games. And she loves to talk to tell us she is in her high perch or is going to the litter box.

Noir became Wheezer as she still sport an upper respiratory challenge. She is the most agile, fasted and best stalker of the three, small but mighty. At times we call her double trouble.

The kittens play hard every day and run laps through the house. They like to visit our laps and watch TV. Sometimes they sleep with us but always are punctual to wake us up for breakfast.

Mocha enjoys to explore and otherwise hag out in her favorite chair and keep a watchful eye on her kittens. She still looks out for her kittens making sure they get their daily wash up and naps.

Thank you, to all who were involved in bringing this family back to good health and helping them to find our home.

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to do a follow up on Mena. She is doing fine.
She is a wonderful and sweet  cat. She is just now comming out of her shell and
it seem like it took an enternity. My family and I are very patient with Mena
and understand that this was a big transistion for her and she still needs more
time to adjust. she does come out of her hiding spot and demands affections. But
as soon as she feels anything or any one she doenst reconize she goes back into
hiding.. But like i said we understand and do not try to force or pressure her
to come out cuz she does on her on. To sum it up Mena is doing fine. We love and
accept her as our newest addition to the family.

-BRIANA

Moose (we love his name) is doing very well.  He settled in quickly, picked out his favorite toys and gave each of our other cats a kiss on the head as he walked by to say hello.  We absolutely adore him!  It turns out we use the same vet he had already been going to so his check up was a piece of cake.  Chris and I along with Bindy and Mackie love spending time and cuddling with him.  It's not unusual to find all five of us on the couch after a long day :0)  He made the perfect addition to our family.  I included a couple of pictures for you to share.  Thanks again for all of your help and of course for Moose!

Good evening,

Gibson, who I've re-named Endo, has been a very welcome addition to the
family.  He and Lulu, my first cat, could barely stand to be separated by a door
for the first 24 hours.  They are a perfect match because they are both young,
curious, and easy-going.  They became friends very quickly, and spend a lot of
time chasing each other around the apartment.  Endo is a bit of a trouble-maker,
but he's also endlessly entertaining and very snuggly.  I changed his name
to Endo because that is his signature move, he does lots of summersaults!  My
favorite quirky habit of his is that he likes to hang out in the bathroom sink
whenever he gets the chance.  Thanks for sending him my way,

Abby

We are very much enjoying having Adam Ant and Lady Bug in our home.  Adam, who now goes by Orion loves water!  He is fascinated by the toilet, tub, and shower and comes running anytime he hears water running.  He prefers to drink from the fish bowl- so far the beta has survived.  He sleeps between my husband and my legs on our down comforter every night.   Lady Bug, also known as Lyra in our home, also has a favorite past time.  She loves to watch T.V. and is especially entertained by the movie projector.  She sits right in front of the screen and watches an entire Disney show with the kids.  Apparently the fast action and bright colors are just as mesmerizing to her as they are to my young children!  She prefers the company of my oldest daughter and usually sleeps with her in her top bunk.   They are frisky and mischeavious.  Orion likes to climb into the ducts and floor trusses in our basement which was very scary for us the first time he did it.  But he found his way out, and we always know when he's been "dusting the ductwork" again- he appears with cobwebs all over his face and whiskers.  Lyra gets a bit rough with her brother sometimes, and usually wins all of their wrestling matches.  She's even pulled a few tufts of hair out of his neck and shoulders, but covers him with kisses afterwards to make up for it.   We're looking forward to spring when we think they will have a lot of fun watching all of the birds and other critters in the gardens outside our windows.   I've attached a picture of them snuggling in their bed.  Thank you for the inquiry into how they are doing.  We have been very impressed with the care For Cats Sake takes in placing their cats and are especially thankful to Jacqui for all of her help with adopting our sweet "bugs".

The cats are very happy!  They both follow me around a lot, especially Tommy.  I just moved to a bigger apartment so they have lots of room to move around.  All of my friends who come over think they are the sweetest cats ever, which I cannot help but agree.  I think their favorite part about being in my life is my heated mattress pad...in fact they hog it so I can't get most of the heat:)

Hi,

Sorry its taken us so long to reply.  The holidays were pretty busy.  We renamed Ding-Dong and we call her Stella, she seems to like the new name.  Me and Sally are very happy with Stella, Mrs. Felker did a great job at getting her house trained.  Our dog's name is Toby and at first they didn't really like each other to much but they have warmed up to each other.  They play together some, and now when Toby sniffs her instead of pawing him or running away Stella has started licking him.  She loves our house, loves perching and looking out of our bay window and likes to hunt the bugs in the basement, I haven't noticed a bug since she moved in.

Thanks,

Dylan and Sally

HI!!!

Brother Bear is now known as Buddy!  He is doing great!  He is a wonderful companion!  He is fantastic with children as my 3 yr old doesn't leave him alone.  He is definetly a lover.  His favorite place to sleep is on my pillow at the top of my head.  He is a people person who always needs to be snuggling.  We are so happy he has joined our family.  Thank you!

Becky

Good Morning Lydia,

All are doing wonderfully, and they adjusted well to one another.  Gabe (our dog) loves both Muffy (Sassy) and Jimmy (Garfield) very much I think he thinks he is there dad.  They love sitting in the sun sleeping together, and feeding time is a blast to watch.  The cats have their own bowls for eating and water, but they tend to use Gabe’s huge water and food bowl instead.  Sassy is so lovable and such a girl, she loves to be held and sit on our shoulders while doing things around house.  She will follow me around and stay in whatever room I am in and watch what I’m doing.  Garfield is the most lovable, laid back  male cat I have ever had, he sleeps on our neck at night, and If watching TV he needs to be laying on our chests and being petted.  He has eyes that just melts our hearts, and a face is just so adorable that you just want to kiss him all the time.

Hi,

Madonna is completely adjusted to her new home. She looked like she was settled in after the first day. She loves to sit and look out of the bedroom window at the back yard.   She is the sweetest and most loving cat I have ever met. When I am lying on the couch, she jumps up and lays on top of me and watches TV. She loves to be petted and scratched.   After I lay down in bed, she jumps up and lays on my chest and begs to be petted and scratched.   thanks.

Hello For Cat's Sake Rescue -

Frankie Six-Toes (formerly Six), or just Frankie for short, is doing great at our house and has adapted quite well. Despite being smaller than her new older brother Jib, she's fearless in her playing and runs all around the house playing games. She has a new collar with a bell and her own tag. Jib has shared his tower tree with her and she gets her own perch when they take naps. But she really likes jumping on Jib when he's napping and she wants to play. She also enjoys waking Tim and Jessica up with some licks and purring before their alarms go off in the morning. She doesn't want them to be late to work. She likes looking out the window at the birds by her and Jib's birdfeeder, even though they are not allowed to go outside. She's also recently discoverd Jib's catnip plant and likes to help him nibble on it. Both cats are enjoying the new addition of a Christmas tree in the living room.   Here is a photo of Jib and Frankie on the kitchen counter purposefully not looking at the camera, after several attempts. :)

Thank You!   - Jessica, Tim, Jib and Frankie

Zoey is doing well and has adjusted well to our house.

She is very energetic and loves attention.  The whole family loves her.  We did choose to keep her name Zoey since it fits well.  I'll attach a couple pictures for you.

-Joe

Elsie is doing great-

She seems to love being here, struts around like she has been here all her life. No problems at all with her adjusting to our home or dog- walks past him & gives him a meow saying don't kiss me again- as he tends to give her a big lick across her face every now & then. She's a fantastic cat- loves to be pet & loves to play!

We are so very glad we adopted her.

We have renamed her Maggie.  She has adapted very well and is total friends with Ali (our other cat). They play together and also sleep next to each other. Maggie has beautiful markings. We are very happy with her and look forward to the years ahead.   Thank you,

Diana

Hi there,

I adopted Pumpkin from your organization about two years ago.  I changed his name to Cronkite.  When I first adopted him, he had a number of health problems mostly stemming from the fact that he was overweight.  I thought you might be happy to know that two years and a diet change later, he weighs around 17 pounds, and at 8 he has the energy of a kitten and the disposition of a small dog.  He has stopped worrying and has a shiny coat, and forever finds more ingenious ways to try to defeat his diet.  I was so distressed by his health when I first got him that I almost brought him back to you guys but I'm glad I didn't.  Thanks - Cassie

(Pumpkin came to FCS grossly overweight due to his previous owners neglect and poor feeding habits.  Pumpkin was given a "lion cut" because he couldn't properly clean himself due to his size.  Thank you, Cassie, for sticking with him and giving him such great care, love and an opportunity for a new home!)

Hi,

Nala is now Ziggy.  As you can see from the pictures, Ziggy and Zoey always have each other.  They've brought a lot of excitement into the house and they have been great fun to watch as they play and cuddle.  They get along very well with our 2 dogs - even sleeping in the dog's kennels.

We are very happy to have them.

Emma & Dan

FCS,

My son renamed him “Pumpkin” when we brought him home.  He is doing very well.  He does not like our dog at all, though.  I think that the dog would love to play with Pumpkin but the cat is not accepting of any attention from her and strikes back at any attempt of physical attention from the dog.  Nontheless, they have figured out how to co-exist in the house and Pumpkin feels free to roam around or lay around most of the time...in between their daily chase sessions.  Pumpkin is definitely my eldest son’s cat, but he is friendly with all of us and can quite often be found curled up on one of the other boys’ beds.  All in all, I would say that he has made a successful adoption into our family.

Thank you for rescuing and making these animals available and ready for adoption,
Kay (and family)
Hello -

The kittens are doing great and have made a smooth transition into our home.  I must admit that I was a little hesitant to adopt at first - especially when we found out that we needed to take 2 kittens, but we couldn't be happier with them.

We have renamed them "Bandit" and "Roko".  They might look the same but they act completely different.  Bandit is quiet, much more into personal grooming and tends to be a little more standoffish.  Roko is loud and is the first to jump on your lap.

Regards,

Thad and Jane
FCS,

I'm glad you are checking on us!  Asia and Tibet are doing great!

They are still wild as ever, especially Asia. Tibet has her moments but she is the laid back one.  They are so much fun to watch.  Asia is my girl, she has to be in the same room as me, whether in my lap or right next to me.  Tibet is more of a Daddy's girl, she loves to be on his lap.  I get Tibet after Mike goes to bed, then it's my lap.

I am so happy we found your website and found these perfect little girls.

Keep in touch,
Dona

FCS,

Duncan and Leo (we changed niko's name) are doing great! They are getting along so well now! They snuggle together and are best friends :) My allergies are good, just once in awhile they act up, nothing bad though. We love them very much! We are so glad that we got them!

Thanks!   ~Sabrina, Dave, Duncan and Leo :)

Maverick is doing well. He has a lot of energy and is fun to watch and play with. He loves going outside so we got him a kitty harness. He prefers to just lay in the grass and watch the wildlife.

He is happy & healthy and be assured he is loved and doing well………he is simply, at times, a force to be reckoned with. lol

Best Regards,

Doreen

Ranger (oliver) is doing great. He is turning into a little chunker and gets me up at the crack of dawn but he is the best.
Thanks again

Scott

Penny who is now called Bella, is doing very well. Sandie (bichonpoo) and bella became fast friends. They love to play, sleep, and go on walks together. Bella was loved by both of our extended families also right away. She is very smart as she already knew roll over, sit, stay, and high- five. We could not be happier with her and we thank everyone involved with helping to give her a better life.

I attached a few pictures of them both.....

Thank you again

From Gene: Hello Everyone!

A lot of things have changed since we adopted Nikita.  We moved to Germany!  Of course we brought Nikita with, and she is very happy here!  When we arrived, she was very curious and explored every square inch of our 3 story home.  Since then, she has found her favorite lounge spots in front of our bay window in our living room, and on top of our aquarium, where it is nice and warm.  She is very playful, very cuddly, and just a really great cat!  She greets everyone who comes to the door, and she is very friendly to strangers.  We are very glad that we found Nikita on your website!  She has been an awesome friend to me and my wife!

Sincerely,
Gene & Natalie

Misty gets along very well with everyone and is very affectionate.  she, lucy and cleo all play together.  she's growing and seems very happy curled up in any available lap.  we all love her very much.

Eileen

Hi this is Gigi,

I adopted Charcoal, He is doing great!!!! He is now named Ash/Ashley and is so energetic and even stubborn but I just love him. His best friend is my other cat Eclipse, and they tear up my house. He is becoming such a big boy but he can still sprint around the house and get the toys faster than the others!! He is so affectionate, sleeps and cuddles w/ me and has a habit of nuzzling me at 8am.  My other cats have never done that so I'd like to say that foster mother did a great job. My other cats: one was from the humane society and one from the pet store and now I suggest everyone get animals that are fostered, they are just the greatest!! I've included some pics of my ASH, Eclipse, and Coconut his new buddies!!!

FCS - Things are going well.  They seem to be adapting well.  They greet me at the door and although Zola is frightened by everything, Kita isn’t.  Neither cat is a lap cat, although they do go to sit near Mike FCS -

Things are going well.  They seem to be adapting well.  They greet me at the door and although Zola is frightened by everything, Kita isn’t.  Neither cat is a lap cat, although they do go to sit near Mike when he watches the TV.  Otherwise, they like sitting on the fireplace hearth when both of us are in the living room together.

Thanks! TV.  Otherwise, they like sitting on the fireplace hearth when both of us are in the living room together.

Hello...

We adopted Isabelle and Annabelle in September 2007 and absolutely adore them!  They've both grown quite a bit since we first brought them home and they'll be celebrating their first birthday in May.  They've settled in very well with their new family and spend their days lounging in the sun, ambushing & wrestling each other, and watching birds & squirrels in the backyard.  As sisters and close friends, its been very interesting to watch their personalities develop.  Isabelle has always been the braver kitty and continues to be the bold explorer, first to discover new & inventive ways to get into mischief!  Annibelle, who came to us very shy & dependent on her sister, has blossomed into an absolute sweetheart.  She is no longer afraid to go off exploring alone and has discovered her own favorite daily routines, warm napping spots, etc.  She is very affectionate, loves to play fetch, and has developed the highly amusing habit of meowing at us very insistantly when she thinks its time for us all to go up to bed!!

Thanks so much for our little darlings...

Tony, Gina & Ethan

Hi,

I wanted to let you know that Angel (Chrystabell) is doing great!  It took a while till my other cats warmed up to her.  She is so affectionate and gentle that my Symba does not play hard with her like he does my Jasmine.  Jasmine & Angel have grown really close.  They like to snuggle together and groom each other.  It is so cute.    Angel is just so adorable and beautiful.  She comes by me in the middle of the night for some loving and attention.  What's not to like about having a snuggle bunny sleeping with you?   She is awesome.

Thanks again.

Diane

Hi there this is Lori,

I adopted Peaches in September. I thought I would email you and tell you Peaches is doing great. She took a while to warm up to me but now she is very, very clingy and she likes to talk...alot. She is a big cuddler and loves to curl up on the desk with me while I am working. If I am home, she wants to be next to me, lol.  She's tricky to get on film though.  She doesn't sit still long enough.  But she's doing great.

Lori

Omar and Meeko are doing great!

I think they are liking their new home & are adapting well.  They love the attention we give them, and always run to the door when we get home from work to say hi.  They like to chase each other around the apartment, and play with a few toys we got them.  They are very fun & we are glad we picked them to be part of our family!

Dan & Heather

Dear FCS,

Good to hear from you.  Our daughter and the cats are best friends.  Andy likes to sleep with her and whenever she cries he comes running.  No matter where he is or what he's doing he is by her side in seconds, rubbing against her and purring.  Toulouse is also quite a cat.  Nothing phases him!!  We had a house full of people for Christmas and he laid down in the middle of the room and fell asleep.  Everyone was amazed.
In short, we love them to pieces and are very happy with our decision.  Your volunteer was wonderful helping us pick out just the right cats for our family.  Thanks again and keep up the good work.  It will be awhile (hopefully) until we get another cat but when we do we will definitely look you guys up.

Marsha

Annette,

Chebe is doing so well, it’s amazing. He’s taught our Labrador how to be gentle with cats. He wasn’t quite as afraid of the dog to the same degree as our other cat and that has helped the dog to learn that the cats are part her pack which in turn has turned them into great friends. He is an extremely lovable kitty too, he lets Pieper (our 6 year old) drag him around everywhere and seems to enjoy it. He had been spending a lot of time in her dolly stroller. Overall everything is well.

Dave

Good Afternoon For Cat's Sake,

Just wanted to get you a little update on Mader (now known as Diesel).  He and my older cat, Boomer, seem to be getting along great.  He as been a great addition to our little family.  thanks again.

Attached is a photo of the two new best friends.

Kristina

Annette, Judy and the For Cats Sake family,

I adopted Holly and Duncan, who are renamed Bella and Riley. They have been with me for two months now and it is a huge learning curve on my part.  They are such a joy to have at the house. I don’t remember life without them. I have included a few pictures, but I really need to send you more updated ones of the two, as they have grown so much this past month alone.

I can’t tell people enough nice things about your organization. If you ever need a “foster home”, please contact me. I would love to help out, whenever and however I can.

I love Bella and Riley to pieces, even though Riley loves to get into trouble on a daily basis. Thank you again for connecting me with two loving cats.

Sherri

Amy:

I just wanted to write to you and give you an update on Belle. She has adapted to her new home very well so far. As you can see from the picture, she has found her perfect spot; all stretched out and sleeping on our bed. She is just about the perfect cat. She has one bad habit though. She likes to bring her toys into our bed during the middle of the night and play with them when we are trying to sleep.    Belle has especially become attached to my wife. Whenever she comes home from work, Belle will drop whatever she is doing (even sleeping) and run to the top of the stairs to meet her.  I think Belle’s becoming S-P-O-I-L-E-D.

Thanks again, Gary & Jenny

P.S.   I’m working on my wife to adopt another cat.

Hi Amy,

Just thought I would let you know how wonderful things have been since I got my two little boys!!   It didn’t take long at all for them to feel right at home.  We get along great, and I honestly can’t picture my life without them!  They go through naughty spurts but they’re just so adorable I can’t get mad at them.  My favorite time of the day is early in the morning; they get so cuddly and cute, they just can’t get enough love!  My only problem is that I can not keep them out of the refrigerator (as you can see in the picture)!   They have gotten really good at using their scratching posts, which surprised me a too!  I just love coming home from work to the two of them sitting at the door just waiting for me to bring out their toys!  They are the perfect kitties for me and we couldn’t be happier!

Thank you again Amy, I love my little boys!!

Hello all at For Cat's Sake,

Stuart and I are getting along quite well. He has made himself right at home. His favorite spots include my papasan chair, my bed, and my window ledges to watch the action outside. He always welcomes me when I come home with a few friendly meows. I always let him climb onto my lap to be petted, so he knows that he is loved. I foresee many happy years together. Thanks so much for opportunity to be Stuart's mommy!

Molly

Dear Annette,

I am enjoying my new home very much.  There is a black mutt who likes to intimidate me, but I have shown him my claws, and he is learning to stay away!  Callie, the older cat in the house, doesn't like for me to come close to her, but she is pretty harmless.  Here is a picture of me with my new favorite friend, Sam.

Thanks for everything,

Darla

Hi

Thought I should finally sit down and send you a picture of Elwood ( I renamed him Sutton ).  As you can see, he's not the least bit spoiled, and loves to be covered up when it's chilly out.  Here, big brother Zuke watches over his new little brother.  Since Zuke was an only child for 10 years, it took him some time to adapt to having another cat in the house, but things are going great.  Sutton has become much more cuddly than he was at first.  He hops on my lap often when I'm watching TV or on the computer and curls up and naps.  He's the most cuddly when he's tired, or has just woken up.  Then he'll come up and cuddle on my shoulder.  Thank you all for caring enough to have such a great organization and helping find homes for all these little guys.  I mention you often, hoping I can help another cat find a nice, warm home.     Again, Thank You So Much!

Pamela

Hi Annette,

The boys are doing well. Chance is out and about and wow is he a hand full! He plays and plays til he's panting and his little heart is beating out of his chest. We have to make him stop especially on hot days so he won't pass out, ha ha.  He is almost adjusted now, the only thing we still need to work on him being held/picked up.   Tucker! He's a lap cat, Chad wanted a lap cat sooooo bad, and now I think he's coined the phrase "Be careful what you wish for".  Tucker will not let him play on the computer its so funny. He crawls up and sits on his lap between Chad and the keyboard (which he types on from his lap, weird I know) and everytime he tries to type Tucker sits up. Then when he goes to use the mouse, Tucker perks up and starts pawing at the screen.  Its so cute.

Have a great Memorial Day   Leau

Hi!

Boo (her new name) is doing well.  We just got back from the vet on Saturday and she has gained nearly 2 lbs (5lbs 6oz to 6lbs 13 oz).  The doctor said that she is nice and lean and we should try to keep her about that weight.  She is very active and into everything, but she definitely likes as much attention as she can get.  She also loves ham and beef jerky :D   I've attached a cute picture of her just in case you are interested...keep in mind, I said she's into everything

Sammie  is a terror with whiskers!  He is doing well in our household, we were going to see a couple of Siamese tomorrow but this cat I met just has something special.  I decided to take Rachel to see him and she loves him!!!  We worked it out with this wonderful agency For Cat's Sake and now Sammie the one year old boy is part of our pack.  We will now try to find him a playmate. He is having a wonderful time with his cat brother Tonie whom we adopted a week later.  We forgot what young cats are like and he is just a ball of energy.

George & Rachel

Hi Amy,

Just wanted to let you know that Zildjian is doing much better, the past two days he's been completely eating on his own and has been way more active.  We've had him isolated in our upstairs and lately he's been trying to sneak down past and run around downstairs.  I think he misses all the other cats.  So hopefully everything has passed and he's on the mend for good.

Thanks again for your emails and for letting us adopt him.  Ive attached some pics for you to see, a couple are of just him and one is of him and his pals all sleeping on the bed together.  You can also see that the patch of fur missing on his nose has completely grown back in.

Thanks again! ~Dan

Hello Judi,

I would like to say thank you for allowing us an opportunity to add Cecilia to our lives. She is a wonderful cat. Our 5 yr old loves her and she is adjusting very well.

She is very active now and we have purchased a scratching post or "Kitty Condo" which she spends her time.

She has so many toys and plays with everyone. She likes to hop in the bed with us when we are sleeping at night. Sometimes she plays with our feet if we move during sleep :-)

We love her to bits and we are so glad that your organization helped us so much with the adoption process. We cannot say enough great things about what your organization has done for us. Again,

THANK YOU!!

Kimberly

Hi Annette (& the For Cat's Sake staff)

I just wanted to send a picture and  to let you know how Mitchell is doing.   He is such a sweet and loving boy. We adopted him from you at Petco in Greenfield in December of 2005. He has adjusted well to Julius, and we added a new addition in September of 06 (a 4 month old stray I found in the alley behind my office). Her name is Madeleine and I can't believe she'll be a year next month!

We love him more each day.   The attached photo is of him laying in a cat bed my husband Jim made for them. He always lays in it like that after he's been chasing (or been chased by) Julius and Maddie.

Best wishes to you, and thank you again for such a wonderful cat

Hi Judi -- Just wanted to tell you that Pierre & I are celebrating our 1-month anniversary together today!

I can't speak for him but I think we're a perfect match. He's such a sweet cat and has adjusted beautifully. I have attached some pictures of his favorite spots here.

Thanks to you and everyone at FCS!

Just want you to know that Ziggy and Marley(now Harley) are the most adorable pets in the world.  They have doubled in weight since coming to us almost a month ago, and they are beautiful.   I will attach a couple of pictures.  In addition, they have now convinced my mom that she also needs a kitten so they can have a cousin.  I believe we will be contacting you soon for her.  They are perfect for us.

Hello All!

Thank you once again for rescuing Sydney!  She is doing great in her new home.  She has turned out to be the perfect cat for me.  She adjusted very quickly and is by far the most well mannered cat I have ever owned.  She is spoiled rotten and is the Queen of Comfort.  :-)  I am attaching some pictures of her in her new home and I think you'll see what I mean!

She has brought me so much joy!  Many thanks to you and to your mission...I think your organization is great.  I will refer others looking for cats to you!

Thanks Again,

Charissa

Wanted to send you these pix cuz the one of the girls in the window is so beautiful.  I'm sure Annette will appreciate seeing it too since I know she loved Brooklyn so.

They are a blast.  Em is still a little lover and Brook is a riot.  They love playing with string and Brook enjoys drinking out of the dripping faucet in the bathroom.  Wednesday is finally playing with the others more and even letting me hold her.  And now that it's getting colder, I have all three in bed with me at night...yammering if I move and bump into them!!

Take Care
Hannah
Hi everyone,

I thought this was a nice picture of Ollie and Merrick together. These two are buds! They are sitting on the chair watching us clean the dining room. I thought it was precious so I wanted to send it to you all! Would someone PLEASE help Peggy set up her computer!  Just kiddin, maybe I will assist her soon.

Oliver is doing great. Seems he loves high up places! He goes to the top of our kitchen cabinets to watch over everyone. He is a very nice cat. No accidents, nor fighting with anyone. He fit right on in.

Deena R.

(Adopted January 2007 and October 2006)

I wanted to let you know that Ginger has settled in! She's been shy, but now comes up to us for affection.  She really loves my son, Josh! She'll sit outside his door and wait for him. She still hisses and growls at Sasha, my 10 year old Persian, but Sasha has been very patient and just walks away. Ginger is becoming more comfortable by the day, she's eating well and playing with toys! Thank you again!! Here's a picture of our lovely girl.

Judy

Hi Peggy and Jackie!!!!

I can't believe that it has been over 4 years since we adopted Buff from you guys. He and Zurg are both doing great and they get along great with our 8 month old puppy, Buster. Buff likes to knead my hair while we are sleeping at night and he purrs in my ear. He is a real lap kitty. When I am sitting on the recliner/luvseat, Buff cumps on the arm and gives me kitty kisses. Attached is a picture of Zurg and Buff on the couch together.

Thanks F.C.S. Rescue!!!!!

Hi,

I thought you might like to see that they are growing nicely and having a lot of fun together. Sorry for the quality of some of these pics- I had trouble with the lighting in the room. Most of these are of the cats on their new play center.   I'm so glad they are all happy being together.

Karen

Happy Holidays!

Well, its hard to believe that 4 months have gone by.  Charley and EmmaLee are 8 months old now.  Still very busy, but they have made themselves at home with me.  We laugh and play a lot!  You will see from the picture that they are growing fast.  Charley especially.  They are so great!

Thanks again for helping us get together.

Dear FCS,

Thank you again for bringing Lola to us!  She is truly a joy to have and is very loving and playful!  She's climbed the Christmas tree a few times, but how can you get mad at her? She's sooooo cute! There have been no issues or accidents with her and we are so lucky to have her! What a love! She's right at home with us, and we with her! I also read she has 2 sisters! Did you adopt them as well? I've attached Lola's Christmas picture below! Hope you have a very happy holiday season! You've given us a very special gift! Thank you so much!

Dear FCS,

Best wishes for a happy holiday season.

Judi, Art and Sherlock

(Origianally adopted in Nov. 2005)

Greetings Annette and FCS Staff,

Just wanted to send you Christmas Blessings from our family.  We adopted Jack and Jill in September.  They are both doing remarkable.  Jack has outgrown Jill by quite a bit yet Jill is always the first to food dish and last to leave.  I've attached a photo of them with my children.  They have been an absolutely fabulous addition to our family..loving, playful, tolerant and well-behaved (for kittens anyway).

I am thankful to have discovered your organization and to have been able to adopt these siblings.  Everything you say on your website about having 2 cats vs. 1 is absolutely true.  I have no regrets about adopting them both or about not declawing them.  Without that information, I would have never known how cruel a thing that is to do.  We've had no problems with them scratching where they shouldn't and clipping the claws is so easy.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your families.

Hi Annette -

Here's a few pics - Snickers and Shadow seem to be really settling in!  Immediate use of litter box, eating well, playing, jumping up on our laps, watching birds, squirrels, deer, etc from the windows, etc. - they are really cool.  Cristy and I are glad to give an early Christmas present to each other - and to them!

Thank you for the Xmas wishes.  I have enclosed a picture of Sammy (whom we adopted 2 years ago) and Onyx (who you knew as Teddy-pictured in front).  Sam and him are BEST buddies.  He is a real sweetheart, very loving and affectionate.  He has become a BIG part of our lives and doing very well.  He gets lots of love and attention.  He likes fuzzy mice and must have about 20 hidden throughout my house.

I am sure glad I walked into PETCO last January and adopted him - you people are a real blessing for all the cats you love and save.

Hi Judi,

Asaigo, now Fiyero, is doing well. My family absolutely loves him and he is very affectionate towards us. He loves his Christmas tree and loves playing with us. It probably took him 3 days to get used to my husband and I and about a week to get used to my boys, aged 6 and 8. Overall, I think he is happy with his new home and we are happy with him. Thanks for doing the work you do and for our new family member!

Sincerely,

Carmen & Pedro

Dear FCS,

Isaac is doing great.  He assimilated himself to the environment within 2 days of coming home with us.  He runs and plays with our other male cat and loves to play and wrestle.  He also loves to get on top of my chest while I'm sitting on the couch and just lay there and watch TV.  Please find attached some pictures that we have taken of him.

Thanks,

Emmett and Tammy

Dear FCS,

Just writing to give you an update on Gus, the cat we adopted a short while ago. About 7 or 8 months after receiving Gus, we adopted another cat. We were at Pick N Save and saw on the board that someone had found a stray. We called and the woman said she found him at their campsite sitting in a box, only about 5 weeks old. We told her we'd have him. He is a fluffy orange and white striped cat who we named Joe. Gus and Joe get along AMAZINGLY! They love eachother! I've attatched a picture so Heather, who fostered Gus, can see how he's doing.

Thanks :)

(Originally adopted in 2005)

Judi,

Tornado (aka - Camden) is doing perfectly fine.  He's definitely a bundle of energy.  I'm attaching a couple of pictures so you can see how he's doing.  He has become the ruler of the animal world in my house.  He doesn't care that the two dogs are 50 lbs+ each - he'll just walk up to them and swat them in the nose to get their attention.  He also has two of the best kittie playmates he could probably find.  My 1 1/2 yr old and him chase each other through the house, up and down the stairs, around the couch and then they'll take a break and lay next to each other.

Thanks for checking in on him - I really appreciate it - knowing that you're a well respected group.

Thanks,

Tammy

Hi Annette and Melissa,

Jack and Ally are doing very well at our house and have made themselves at home.  They enjoy playing with our kids with the laser light and curiously following the dog around.  They are content and we are so happy they are here with us.

Thanks again for everything!

Annette,

Charlotte just celebrated her first birthday.  She has turned into a very loving lap cat.  She follows me everywhere.  Cleo(her sister) and Charlotte even wait outside the bathroom door as I shower and as soon as the water turns off they both have to come in to play. She is a real asset to my family.  I'm so glad she is here.

Hey All,

Just wanted to give you guys an update and some pictures from Maki’s (who is now named Pirette) first week and a half at home… The first couple days were a little rocky with the older cat, but they’re getting along okay now (once the older one, Gwen, figured out she was still in charge). Pirette’s a real handful, and a whole lot of fun. She probably has 17 different toys to choose from, but for some reason she’s decided my socks are her favorite. Beyond that, she’s a lover. You simply cannot keep her out of your lap…

Anyway, thanks again. She’s a doll, and we couldn’t be happier or more in love with her…

They have been renamed Laverne and Shirley.  They were a bit nervous at first, but have slowly come around.  They both love our fish and spend hours trying to catch them.  We also have a sliding door in the back and they love watching all of the birds and little critters, plus they are getting fresh air without going out.  We also got tags just in case something would happen.  Each day they are getting more and more comfortable here.  We are having a lot of fun with these sisters.  It's very cute how much they love each other.

Thank you,

Tom and Ann

FCS,

I gave up on teaching Lucy to not go outside, We come and go to much and she is always waiting by the door. So I just got her a harness and i take her out when i do the gardening. She turned out to be a very loving cat, and has very few bad habits. She is a joy to have around. Thank you again for letting us adopt her.

Hey everyone at FCS! I wanted to give you all an update on the kitty formerly known as Angel. She was renamed Colette and is currently happy as a clam. She has made tremendous progress since I picked her up from Shane in October 05. Cole was barely letting anyone pick her up and hid a lot, and now she'll ride around on people's shoulders all the time and says hello to everyone, even the UPS guy! I get constant comments on how beautiful and friendly she is. She's bonded great with one of my other cats, she and Gavin are now partners in crime. The house is always a mess and they are always going on little "adventures" together in the basement, but it's all well worth it. They are very good friends and they always get extremely concerned if the other goes away in a cat-carrier for a while. Cole has also gained some weight since coming here, and that's because she's the biggest mooch on the planet! She's CONSTANTLY in the kitchen and since I've gotten her I have not been able to finish an entire sandwich on my own without giving her some or without her stealing some right out from under me. She has some hilarious habits such as guarding the pantry door and watching Beavis and Butthead with me (she sits with her eyes glued to the screen!) Cole can be a total pain sometimes but not without being so unbelieveably funny and cute that I can't even get mad at her. This is the best personality I have ever seen in a cat and I'm so happy that she lives with me now. She's been a great addition to the clan, and my experience with the adoption and everyone at FCS was absolutely fantastic, especially Shane for being so incredibly patient with me. Thanks everyone for bringing me this wonderful cat!

Thanks again!
-Lily
Heather,

My wife wanted me to pass along some photos for you (and For Cats Sake) just as an update on the 2 wonderful cats that we have.

Lily has had a few Vet visits recently and is currently on medication due to crystals in her bladder.  Other than that, they are great fun and they are getting along with our new addition to the family, Fritz.  Ivy (Clarice) would initially run and hide, but after about 6 mo she is really beginning to warm up and she doesn't always run out of the room when he (the dog) enters. They have been a great joy to have around the house and keep my wife company while I am on the road.

Hi Annette,

I thought you'd enjoy this photo of Pudge that we took shortly after we got him. As you can see, he immediately made himself right at home!  Hope all is well with you.

Sincerely,

Anne Marie

White Sox has been renamed Cornelius.  He is just great!  I took him to get a check-u[ and rabies shot and he received a clean bill of health.  He is absolutely wonderful with our other two cats and doesn't mind the dog at all.  We will defintely contact you again for any future adoptions.

(January 2006)

Hi. The kittens couldn't be more precious! I have renamed them, Ginger (Kiara) and Jingle (Starlight). I have told the girls that they are going to a spa, who knows what they know of vets. ;) They both let me sleep all night, hardly scratch the furniture (they came with experience with a scratching box, thank you foster home!), have never had an accident out of the litter box, LOVE the dripping bathtub faucet, and take every opportunity to climb into the dishwasher as I'm loading or unloading it, and are very curious about the fridge. Ginger is the more aggressive play fighter, but they both do their share of chasing around. I have sent many of my friends to your web site and hope that many more successful adoptions happen.

Thank you and For Cat's Sake! Keep up the good work!

Dear FCS -

Gaston (Nokia) is settling in beautifully - eating, using his litterbox, purring, exploring.  He is such a wonderful addition to our home!  :)

Dear FCS,

Here are some photos of Annabell. She's quite a character! We love her and we think she likes us too!

Merry Christmas,

Jamie and Sara

Hi Judi,

The girls are doing just fine.  All of us bonded very quickly.

They both battled upper respiratory infections for several weeks, but are now finally back to normal after a couple visits to the vet.  I was able to take advantage of the insurance; that worked out well.

Attached is a picture of them with their dog Shadow.

Thanks for following up!

Every thing is fine and Missy is doing well. My wife Leah can't be more happier with the new addition to the house.

Annette,

Here are some pictures of Bella. The last one is with Mickey our Ragdoll kitten. I never have been able to get a picture of Bella on her feet. I try and then she sits down.

The kittens are doing great.  Yesterday they had their first check up appointment.  The doctor said the kittens are very healthy.

It was no problem for them to adjust here even the day they arrived.  I have a couple of pictures that were taken those first days here. We named Jason as Tigger and Jamie as Moorka.
We all love Tigger and Moorka!

Thank you very much,

Lazzat

We adore Baxter and he made an immediate adjustment to our home.  We do have two greyhounds and were worried how he would react.  Baxter handled the two mischief makers with aplomb!  Baxter now runs the house and allows the dogs to sleep close to him when he's in the mood.  Our two boys love Baxter very much and are constantly trying to get him to sleep with them as well.  When Baxter is in the mood he also allows the boys the gift of his presence.

Baxter is a family favorite.  Everyone picks him up and carries him around as that is his preferred method of travel.  He likes to hold onto his person's neck and give lots of kisses on the chin.

Baxter is exactly what we were looking for in a cat.  The people who matched us up with him did a wonderful job.  We are very appreciative of the time they took to listen to our needs and wants to find us the perfect new best friend!

Thank you,

Carol Anne (November 2005)

I just wanted to send a Halloween picture of Domino. The picture was actually taken for the dog rescue that our dog came from, but Domino couldn't resist getting in on the action! Where ever "his" dog is, is where he wants to be! Sunni, your typical "that's SO beneath me" kind of cat, stayed clear of the pictures! Actually, most of the pictures, Domino had his head IN the pumpkin!

Both kittens are doing well, they are nearly 6 months old now. They are in that rowdy teenager stage....when the house gets TOO quiet (just like with kids), it means I must go check what they've gotten into! They are constantly looking for something new to investigate or to entertain them. My 15 year old cat has realized that these guys are not leaving anytime soon and has finally welcomed them into the family.

Take care, Lisa (October 2005)

I adopted Cowboy and Indian in October and they are doing very well.  I've renamed them Ben and Jerry.  Their "foster dad", Shane, was super helpful and gave me some good advice when Ben got sick shortly after adoption.  Thankfully, it wasn't anything serious and both boys are doing fantastic.  They are gaining lots of weight...I'm sure they will be big boys soon.  Ben loves to play fetch, and Jerry... well Jerry just loves to make mischief.  I couldn't have asked for more loveable and social kittens, and as you can see by their picture, they are just plain adorable.

Thanks a bunch!

Betsy

(October 2005)

Foster and Zoe are doing great! It did not take them very long to adjust to my husband and I or their new surroundings.  Foster was affectionate right from the beginning, whereas Zoe liked to be on her own.  Now, Zoe curls up on my chest and Foster likes to take his naps in another room.   However, at night, it's Foster who sleeps with us.

The cats have adjusted to my granddaughter's visits fine. Foster usually lays low till she leaves. Zoe comes out, but doesn't get too close.    We couldn't ask for 2 better pets than Foster and Zoe!

I have told several people about For Cat's Sake! Rescue and what a great organization it is.

Thank you again for the follow-up.

Michelle (October 2005)

Heather,
Thank you so much for bringing Clyde to us.  He complained for about 200 miles until we stopped at a rest stop.  We put him on a leash and let him climb up on a picnic table where we introduced ourselves to him and gave hime some loving.  After that he went back in his cage and was quiet for the next 150 miles.  We took him out at another rest stop but it was windy and he was kind of spooked.  After a while Paulette was driving and I took him on my lap with the leash and he laid half on my lap and the dash for a while then to the back of my seat for a couple minutes then laid down in the back seat and slept.
When we got home he explored the house while we unloaded then went and laid on our bed.  We were sitting in the living room with a fire in the fireplace and he came and jumped up on Paulette's chair then walked to mine and became very loving with the head butts, then got down and a few minutes later jumped up on Paulette and did the same to her.  He woke us up twice wanting attention and today he spent most of the day on our bed.  When I came in from doing yard work he came right out and got in my lap.  He is very careful to share his attention between us so no one feels left out.  Last night he was about to jump on the kitchen counter and I told him 'NO' firmly and he walked away and has not gotten on the counter since.  He is definately the smartest cat I've ever had.  He's a great joy!!
Thanks again,
Claude & Paulette (October 2005)

Hi Heather,

Hope this is your correct email.  I thought I had it in my address book but I didn't so I am going off of memory.  Here are some pics of Bam with our other baby, Tony.  They are so cute together and Bam is getting so big.

Sent from the loving home of Gary and Tracy (October 2005)

Hi Peggy.

I am sending you this picture of Hobart.  This was taken about two hours after he moved in.  Do you think he likes it here?  He went to the vet on Monday, all the test results came in Tuesday, and he got a clean bill of health.  He decided that his favorite place to sleep was in a potted tree (nonpoisonous) in the living room.  The tree had to move out.  This morning he showed us how fast he can run and chase his toy balls around the house.

We will see you on Sunday when we return your cage.  Thank you.  Good thing we had it as he is too big to fit in the one we have.  Which reminds me, our vet seems to think that he might be a bit younger than 15 months and has some more growing to do.  She thinks he is going to be a big boy.
See you Sunday.
Sue (August 2005)

FCS,

Maxie has adapted well.  She is Keira's (our younger black cat who is about 1yr old) shadow, and she gets along with our older cat Lola.  She loves to sleep in our bed and usually beats us there at bedtime.  She finally learned to jump last week, though she isn't particularly graceful.  She is lovable and playful.  Attached is a photo.

Best wishes,

Tracy (Sept 2005)

Hi,

Pepper has been here a month now, and she's been the perfect addition to our family! She settled in quickly, and she and my 16-year-old male cat, Andrew, get along great and enjoy playing with each other. He was so lonely after my other cat died, and Pepper has really perked him up. She is a sweet and well-behaved little girl, and I'm so happy to have found her through "For Cat's Sake." I've enclosed two photos: one of Pepper sitting in a favorite window spot and another of her and Andy playing together. Thanks again for helping to make a purr-fect match.

Dear FCS,

(Smith and Wesley) are doing wonderful!!  I love them so much.  I renamed them Gizmo (longer haired kitty) and Bailey.  Gizmo is a little loverboy and loves attention and Bailey is more independant.  I already took them to their initial check up at the Cat Doctor to get their vaccinations and that is where I'll be taking them to get neutered.  I think they're very happy...I know I am!  Thanks for the follow up.

Sincerely,

Michelle

Dear FCS,

I am writing to give you an update on the cat you named Hobbs. He was all white with big blue eyes. Well his name has been changed to Cinco because he is our fifth animal (we had two dogs, and two cats). He has become very adjusted to our home and has made very close friends with our 14 week old puppy and our 8 month old calico cat. When we got him we were told that he was deaf, but he does respond to some sounds, as long as you speak a little louder, but in all honesty you could never tell he has this handicap. Thank you so much for this beautiful cat.
